The Beagle dog breed is seen by many Beagle Dog Breeders as a courageous and intelligent dog breed. The Beagle has a coat that is care free. The coat is short and varies in color. There are tri-colored coated Beagles, black and tan colored Beagles, red and white colored Beagles, orange and white colored Beagles, or lemon and white coated Beagles. The coat is a tight coat, and is short to medium in length. The Beagle breed is known for its trademark long, wide ears. Their brown or hazel eyes have a puppy dog, or pleading expression which is one of their most noticeable traits.
The Beagle breed is known to be a gentle and very curious dog breed. Beagle puppies love everyone even strangers! They are known to be little tail-waggers and are very outgoing. Since the Beagle is so affectionate, they are known to be an excellent choice for a family with children or kids regardless of their age. Beagle puppies are also known to be good with other dog breeds.
Beagles naturally tend to follow their noses. This means that keeping the Beagle on a leash when outdoors is very important. The Beagle breed should be alright in an apartment, but they must have some time outside at least a few times a day. They need lots of exercise which is fine in the form of long walks. One thing every Beagle owner knows is that Beagle’s thrive off of the outdoors! Your new Beagle puppy will still seem to be very active indoors, but remember their need to be outdoors. These puppies need a good amount of outside time to run around and tire themselves out. It is very important to remember to attach the leash for the dog’s safety as they can follow their little noses and disappear out of sight quickly.
Training a Beagle is easy as long as you understand that they tend to have a mind of their own. Training this breed requires patient, and consistent training. Beagle pups are known for their need to be around people. This is one breed that does not like to be left alone! If you will be gone for a considerable amount and your Beagle will be left alone, you may want to consider buying two Beagles. This is highly recommended. Beagle puppies are full of energy, and they love to play with their new family members any chance that they get!
